Volunteers Make the Friendship Center Holiday Programs a Festive Success!

by Robert Shoemate | Mar 24, 2011

Gracious volunteers from all over the county came out on Saturday, December 11, to help make the holidays brighter for seniors.

The Friendship Center (TFC) has been looking like Santa's Workshop for the past three weeks as community members have generously been collecting and donating gifts for The Santa for Seniors Program. Many volunteers, including the hard-working NCL Texas Laurels, arrived Saturday morning ready to sort, giftwrap, and group over 1,000 holiday gifts. In no time, the volunteers had zoomed through the presents and had them ready for delivery to seniors!

During the same time, many other volunteers from TFC and The Woodlands Dog Park Club worked from 4 locations in the county collecting pet food donations for our Pet Meals on Wheels program. Community members were again very generous in their giving and have helped to provide around 400 homebound senior's pets with nutritious meals.

TFC would like to thank our partners in these holiday events for their dedication to enriching the lives of seniors in Montgomery County. Our partners include:
