The Friendship Center Kicks Off 2011 Meals-on-Wheels Campaign

The Woodlands, TX  (May 24, 2011) -  The Friendship Center has kicked off The 2011 Meals-on-Wheels Campaign with Dr. Don Stockton, Superintendent of CISD, as Campaign Chair. The purpose of the campaign is to support the homebound elderly throughout Montgomery County. In celebration of the campaign, The Friendship Center’s Board of Directors has exhibited unparalleled excitement and commitment by collectively contributing over $17,000 to the effort.

The Meals-on-Wheels Program provides nutrition and creates a support network for homebound senior adults who face isolation while striving to live independently. Beginning June 1st and continuing through August 14th, The Friendship Center will feature the campaign county-wide, inviting community members to learn about the program and challenging them to catch The Board of Director’s enthusiasm for The Meals-on-Wheels Program.

The Friendship Center was established in 1973 and is the only non-profit organization specifically dedicated to serving the needs and enriching the lives of seniors throughout Montgomery County, Texas. Core services include a variety of programs that seek to meet the social, physical, and emotional needs of seniors 60 years of age and older.
